Camila

Oil on Panel 20" x 16" x 2" Sold

Camilla was captured by photo as my husband and I traveled to Ireland for our 30th Anniversary. I was captivated by the tight bulb that housed the delicate full flower. After I painted it I looked up it's meaning and was again taken in amazement. This flower has been around and has represented opposing views. It represents the divine in Japan. In Korea longevity. In Brazil represented abolitionist. In Alabama the state flower. The Knights of White Camelia which are like the KKK. Also in the book t"To Kill a Mockingbird". Such a wild history a tribute of how as humans our diversity and perceptions make subject to the life around us.
